My husband was born in Havana and moved to Miami when he was 5 years old
with his family in 1960. We lived in Miami until December of 2012 and
retired to Maryville, TN – we now live at the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in a valley. It is very beautiful here! The cost of living is very low
and the people are extraordinarily nice! We bought a 4,000 sq. ft. house and love it here!

We had brought a chef from Miami, Pedro Hernandez-Castillo, to this area
with the intent of opening a small Cuban Restaurant. Well things do not always go as planned in life. We had many obstacles placed in our way and could not move forward as planned with the restaurant.

I am TOTALLY AMAZED by the HUGE number of people from all over Florida who have moved to this area!!! It is very interesting to hear them ALL speak
of NO GOOD CUBAN FOOD here! It is either just plain “fake” Cuban food or
it is terrible. We are very unhappy with this situation! We were in Miami recently and ate only Cuban Food!

Near our house is a food mart – big clean gas station-small kitchen set-up-typical food mart goodies for sale – including Cuban cigars-go figure!. They are very interested in having Cuban breakfast/lunch set up in their facility. It does a huge business. It is on a major road (SR411) leading South to Chattanooga – north to Knoxville and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park (Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg).

We sure are interested in assisting someone set up a Cuban Restaurant. If
you have any Miami contacts who might be interested – this could be a
great new business opportunity. My business background includes small business management, trustee of a charitable foundation, trustee of many family
    trusts and general business practices.
