Thank you America and its founding Fathers.

4th of July represents the birth of this great nation and as immigrant I feel pride and a sense of belonging to my adopted home land.  Its been a long coming for me and every 4th of July I look back at my life and realize that no other place on earth would have offered me more than this one.  I’m not talking  material possessions (not that there is something wrong with that), but mainly I cherish the rights I inherited it the very same day I put my feet on this land, rights no government or person can deny me of.  Rights that allow me to share my opinions about our government without becoming an enemy of the state.

This 4 of July lets celebrate the fact the United States of America is still special because it guarantees its citizen the rights and values that make us human.  Where there is no destiny marked for you, here you are born or immigrate (like me) and have in front of you a blank page to dream, work hard and make your dreams come true.

People are free to starve, be working destitute, and have insufficient access to a corrupt electronic voting system.

People are free to smuggle themselves into this country, work hard and keep US agriculture viable, and are free to be denied citizenship.

People are free to be a citizen of a dysfunctional, obese and uneducated country, with its long history of Machiavellian foreign invasions, coups, and assassinations.

       Hi Jeff,

Yes if that is what this country represent to you you can say it without fear to be in jail for saying those things. I don’t agree with you but you have the right to express your opinion and that is the freedom I’m talking about. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and reading my blog.
