Who is Alexis Martin

On December 18, 2002, I sold my first Cuban Guayabera shirt online. I fell in love with the process of having a business. It wasn't long before I realized for it to work, I had to always be willing to learn. And always want to thrive to over-deliver in excellence and care for your customers. 

Since then, many things have changed as software services, and concepts have updated with the times. At MyCubanStore.com, we had been able to ride different market waves. We are always humbled and grateful for the privilege of building a future in this great country.

Perseverance and Hard Work will Always Pay Off!

I grew up in a small countryside town in Cuba. I studied computer hardware with Russian mainframes. At the age of 24, I jumped on a raft (similar to this one) to leave my country searching for a dream! I spent 13 months at Guantanamo Bay during the 1994 migration crisis.

I grew up in a small countryside town in Cuba, studying computer hardware with Russian mainframes. At the age of 24, I jumped on a raft (similar to this one) to leave my country searching for a purpose. However, I was picked up by the U.S. Coast Guard and spent 13 months at Guantanamo Bay during the 1994 migration crisis. During this time, the U.S. Coast Guard was picking up Cuban Migrants (also known as rafters) at sea, taking them to Guantanamo Bay to be processed by immigration.

The time spent at Guantanamo bay was very uncertain. I was not sure if I was going to be admitted to emigrate to the US. I tried to make the most of it by helping and improving on my personal growth.

I arrived in Miami in November 1995. I worked on different jobs and was later hired to more professional positions, from computer support technician to phone tech support for a software company.  In 1997 I started my private practice helping customers with their computer networks. Building custom made computers and installing computer servers at my customers business. More on my story here.

Where I am Today

We are producers of Guayabera shirts; we take pride in the products we offer. As caretakers of a shirt style that has been around for more than 200 years, we mean business. We take care of our customers in a professional manner. Nowadays, we sell guayaberas all over the world. Our main markets outside the US are Canada, Europe, Japan, and even Australia! 

These original Cuban shirts we manufacture are handmade in a small factory in Mexico. We manufacture these guayabera shirts following the traditionally Guayabera-making process, just like they used to do in Cuba years ago. We concentrate on authenticity, quality, and size standards. 

Our guayaberas are world-famous. Our customers buy these shirts to celebrate important moments in their life, birthdays, quinceañeras, sweet sixteen, and baptisms. Not to exclude, vacations, destination weddings, family portraits, and even death, honoring a loved one heritage.

My Personal Views on Life and Family

I believe in human rights' respecting their desire to archive and work towards their goal. Respecting all their freedoms, including political, religious, economic, sexual preferences, and more. I believe all humans were created equal. And that each of us makes this world better with our different cultures, foods, traditions.

Ultimately, I'm always learning to search for knowledge to better my life, business, and personal relations.
